Cannabis - The Miracle Medication

I have an extremely painful degenerative demyelinating condition and have been living with it for 15 years. Mine has no name, very few victims, and therefore, little to no research or hope for any relief - ever. Except from the pain - and it will never stop.

 

Three years ago my "doctor" had me on this toxic cocktail DAILY:

4x80 mg. Oxycontin (=320 mg. 12-hour time release Oxycodone - for pain)

12x5 mg. Oxycocet (=60 mg. Oxycodone+Acetaminophen - for pain)

9x300 mg. Gabapentin (=2700 mg. anti-seizure epileptic med, 3 times the dose given to epileptics. I am not epileptic > it is BELIEVED TO reduce nerve pain)

2x10 mg. Amitriptyline (=20 mg. "Antidepressant" developed in 1970s > used for everything including headaches, stress, anxiety, insomnia and BELIEVED TO reduce nerve pain)

75-150 g. Effexor (Anti-depressant > because I was in a "BAD MOOD")

 

ALL LISTED MEDICATIONS CAUSE LIVER DAMAGE - not to mention STUPIDITY! The horrific side effects that go along with them are, in many cases, far more debilitating than the pain of the condition being treated. I am alive today only because I got off them before I actually succeeded in setting my house on fire! I came close SO many times while stoned on the narcotics that a "DOCTOR" prescribed...and I still had horrible pain!

 

The amount of money I cost our prescription assistance and health care systems is a crime! The cost of medication was about $2000.00/month. I had to have an appointment every 2 weeks for refills. Additional appointments were needed for tests or consultations. He had me sign a contract committing to buy ALL NARCOTICS ONLY FROM THE DISPENSARY THAT HE OWNS! Once I found myself a pain specialist, got a prescription for marijuana, started reducing my pharmaceutical consumption, and filled a prescription at another pharmacy (like I could remember what was in the contract!) he DROPPED ME AS A PATIENT!!

 

I detoxed myself from all this with cannabis. Now my daily medications are:

up to 5 g. Medical Grade AA Marijuana (combination of Sativa, Indica, & Hybrids)

up to 6 Tylenol Arthritis

AS, AND ONLY IF, REQUIRED FOR PAIN

 

Now I can pay for my own medication and I have seen my new physician TWICE in a year. The only reason I have to see him again is to have my annual MMAD form completed.

 

I have regained the use of my body, though limited, but mostly, MY MIND!

 

My heart goes out to everyone who does not have access to this amazing medication. I KNOW it has saved my life. The Canadian government calls the program MMAD, for Marihuana Medical Access Division. I like to think of it as the Miracle Medication Access Division. IT IS BROKEN - but broken things CAN BE FIXED!

 

I only hope that our society wakes up and joins "The Un-Common Sense Evolution" and allows everyone the access to the same safe, effective, organic medication that is the reason I am still here today!
